As the end of 2019 wraps up it's time to cue the familiar, cliche saying: "I can't believe how fast the year went by!" We couldn't agree more, but looking forward, 2020 is going to be a beautiful year!

Each year gives us new chances to reinvent ourselves, re-imagine our goals, and re-chase those dreams we've been pursuing.  It's a time for reflection, growth, and gratefulness. There's 365 days full of potential, possibility, pleasantness, and adventure...

Love it or hate it the scrunchie is making its comeback stronger than ever! A new wave of tweens, teens, millennials, and moms have been embracing this iconic fashion accessory and welcoming it back into their wardrobes.

As a young girl I can remember putting in waaaaay too much time attempting to constantly match one (or, I'm ashamed to admit - even more than one) of these fabric bands to my colorful outfit. I'd gather my messy, curly-Q hair into a high ponytail and adorn it with a beloved scrunchie. But, as with all things fashion, this trend seemed to go as quickly as it came. Soon I abandoned this fashion staple for the next trend, whether it was butterfly clips, comb headbands, or some other hair holder.

Recently we've seen a resurgence of this 90s accessory and we want to know what you think? Are you embracing the scrunchie as a long lost friend or should it only remain in our middle school yearbook? Let us know...comment below!

It seemed not so very long ago that we just couldn't get our fill of whimsical unicorns. Their horns, their rainbow colors, their elusiveness...everything about the mystic unicorn was just so intriguing and enchanting. And then, commerce as we know it took our love for these legendary creatures to the next level. Unicorns were everywhere: on planners, on keychains, and on pillows. Even Starbucks created a sugary, colorful, concoction dedicated to the unicorn for our consumption. 

But then the scene changed. Suddenly alpacas and llamas began making a guest appearance in our social media feeds, in boutique merchandise, and yes, they are even available to rent for weddings. Their large innocent eyes, quizzical smiles, soft fluffy wool, and perky ears suddenly have us swooning. It's hard to say just when the llama loving and alpaca adoring trend began, but honestly we're glad its here.

Hooray! Springtime is official here! So bring on the sunshine, bring on the longer, lighter days, and bring on one of my faa-av-orite flowers of all time...the peony of course! What's not to love about these big, beautiful blossoms?

Each year I eagerly await the first signs of the flowers awaking from their sleepy winter slumber. First pointed stalks slowly arise from the earth like earthy spears. Then perfect leaves unfurl and stretch for the sun. Next, tiny green spheres appear that are yet to unfold their most enchanting secret.

And then the magic happens..pink begins to peak its way through the buds and before you know it, the gorgeous soft petals dance with the sugar ants and the sun in an organic ballet only springtime can bring! The delicate aroma catches a ride on the springtime breeze and the blossoms yield their gift to the world.

And that is why these flowers are one of my all time favorites. What about you? Which flower leaves you totally enraptured?

Hello Darlings!

I apologize that it's been awhile since I last posted, but these last few months have been really, really busy ones for Dear Reverie!  But I'm proud to say one of the projects that has been on my list is finally completed!  I decided to take Dear Reverie on the road with a mobile trailer that I affectionately named "Carlita." 

I know...giving the trailer a name may seem like a bit much, but honestly getting Carlita ready involved so much of our summer and fall, I really feel like she's part of the family.  And as you might've guessed, the inspiration for her name was my hubby. (Hey, people name boats after people they love, why can't we do the same thing with trailers?) All jokes aside, there would be absolutely no way I could've created Carlita without my husband's constant encouragement and positivity. He really kept me going when I felt like giving up or when I was completely stumped on how to tackle a certain task in getting the trailer ready.

So now that Carlita is finished, we're extremely eager for you to come and check her out. So stay tuned darlings! We'll keep you posted throughout 2019 to let you know where Carlita will pop up next!  XOXO, Dear Reverie

While I absolutely love whimsical, bold, and quirky jewelry, I'm also a big fan of dainty, delicate pieces too. Sometimes you just need a little gleam of gold or a shimmer of silver to add the perfect accent to your outfit but not overwhelm it. Dainty pieces are also great for office wardrobes! To say that April 21st was a very special day for me would be an understatement. In fact, there are no words to describe the unbridled euphoria, bliss, and adoration I felt on that day! But my excitement transcends beyond just the moments we shared together that misty, silver Saturday. Because really, I am so thrilled for every moment in all of life's adventures - those both ordinary and exceptional - that we will spend together hand in hand and heart to heart. He is the personification of my jubilation, my hopes, my dreams, and so very much that I aspire to be. And I cannot wait to see the world we will build together.

When it comes to fashion, a girl often has to make tough choices between being  trendy or being comfortable... but not anymore! We found these super cute but super lightweight cellulose earrings that are totally trending this spring!  With a variety of floral patterns and a little bit of bling, these lightweight earrings can be worn all day with a cute top knot or wavy tresses. I'm always on the quest for inspiration so this week I visited the Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown OKC and was not left disappointed! The gardens were bursting with flower blooms and beauty everywhere I turned. So I just had to snap a few pics in hopes to capture the moment and take a little bit of the prettiness with me. The lovely lavender, romantic red, and cheery yellow of the flowers left me inspired to find the same colors in our fashionable jewelry.
